Davis Demographics was contracted to support enrollment and data-based decision-making in Mt Diablo Unified. Their analysis includes student population through attendance matrices, careful consideration of birth rates, student yield factors, mobility, residential developments, and student forecasts. Both the Davis Demographics and the MDUSD team carefully review historical data and enrollment trends, leaning heavily on the historical data as recommended by FCMAT in its Fiscal Health Risk Analysis.
Staff uses the information from this report, along with current enrollment and typical trends observed to triangulate the data and arrive at enrollment projections.
Tonight's presentation is an updated ten year focus on the enrollment study and forecasts, updated to take into account continued impacts of the pandemic on student mobility. We have a three-year contract with Davis Demographics and will receive similar reports over the following years of the contract.
