Summary
:
Background: The attached change order summary list and backup documents describe (3) scope changes to Bid #1870 Security Fencing at Cambridge Elementary School. The (3) scope changes involve (7) separate Change Order Requests (COR’s). The MDUSD Construction Manager and District Administration have reviewed each request. The work has been authorized for all aforementioned COR’s.
Current Consideration: Ratification of the (7) COR’s authorization of the addition of the approved amounts to the original contract. The contractor may bill for the additional work once approved by the board as the scope has been verified as complete. The deleted scope included removing the planned 2’ switchback at the top of perimeter that was determined unnecessary due to the height of the perimeter fencing, which allowed to add additional owner directed scope. The added scope of work was presented as a Owner Directive to additional access for maintenance and staff, safety bollard and the addition of visual access at the main entry gates.
Fiscal Impact: The total cost of the (7) COR’s is an increase of $15,026.91. This is a 3.79% increase to the original contract. This project is funded by the Measure C General Obligation Bond and no additional funding is necessary.
