Summary:
|
Mt. Diablo Adult Education (MDAE) seeks to update and upgrade its Loma Vista Adult Center (LVAC) Main and CTEC Offices, to better reflect the quality of the programs and services provided Contra Costa County residents and employers and to better serve these stakeholders.
The proposed renovation of these common areas will also provide improved public access and space for social distancing as well as yielding operational efficiencies for expanded and improved student services to help address the ongoing COVID-19 impacts to Contra Costa County residents and adult students. Since the onset of COVID-19 in California, MDAE has been enhancing and broadening student support and “wrap around” services to help mitigate the negative impacts on adult students and their pursuit of education and training.
The increased and new student services MDAE has put in place and is further enhancing and expanding, are yielding positive outcomes for the adult students of MDAE. The positive outcomes evidenced are increased student persistence, program completions, a high rate of successful attainment of State and industry-recognized certifications and demonstrated work-readiness skills attainment, resulting in high rates of first-time employment or reentry into the workforce in Contra Costa County.
