Summary:
|
In 1986, Congress passed the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA). The law requires all schools, K-12, to be inspected for building materials containing asbestos. The District is seeking approval for a 3-Year contract totaling $303,071.00. Year 1 (2025) $164,200, Year 2 (2026) $69,353, and Year 3 (2027) for $69,518 with Aurora Environmental Services, Inc., for annual AHERA Triennial inspections and Biannual Surveillance services at district sites. These services are annual requirements.
Per Government Code 53060, the District is authorized to contract out services that require specialized training, experience and competent persons to perform special services that are not provided by District Staff. |
