Summary:
|
i-Ready has been implemented in the district for the last 6 years; first as a pilot with selected sites, then district wide TK-8 for the last five years and at the high school level the past three years. i-Ready consists of adaptive diagnostics assessments (universal screeners) and formative/ summative assessments. In the past, we have purchased and implemented the instructional component of i-Ready. This year we are only moving forward with the assessment component for only English learners 2nd-12th grades for reclassification purposes and for students in grades 2nd-8th grade who fall into Tier II and III intensive support groups for reading. The assessment components are used to monitor and support student progress towards grade level state standards mastery and college and career readiness. The data generated from this software allows teachers to provide differentiated instruction/support to English learners and progress monitor students with identified learning gaps and learning loss. This contract has been reduced by $720,000 by not including the instructional modules and by only providing ELA licenses for English learners and for those students falling into Tier II and III intervention categories. After surveying the needs of Title I sites, a supplemental number of math licenses for students falling into Tier II and Tier III support groups has been requested by two Title I sites and is being funded out of restricted federal funds.
