Summary
:
As part of the national accreditation by the Council on Occupational Education (COE) of the Mt. Diablo Adult Education (MDAE) Career Technical Education Center (CTEC), COE requires MDUSD Governing Board of Education approval for each CTEC training program course title.
Although the MDUSD Governing Board approves the list of all MDAE programs and course titles to be submitted to the California Department of Education (CDE) for their annual approval, COE requires additional specificity about CTEC comprehensive training programs. Please refer to the CTEC Program Course listings with these details in the attached document.
Mt. Diablo Adult Education provides Federal Pell Grants through the U.S. Department of Education for income-eligible adult students and accreditation by Council on Occupational Education is now a requirement by the U.S. Department of Education for administration of Federal Pell Grants.
Every CTEC training program has an Advisory Committee comprised of industry representatives. These Advisory Committees provide industry-specific input on curriculum and student externship programming. This advisory input, along with a number of community business/employer partnerships providing student externship ensures MDAE CTEC students are fully-prepared for success in their field upon graduation from MDAE.
