Summary:
|
On June 18, 2015, the District received a petition to form the Rocketship Charter School. Tonight, the School Board will hold a public hearing to receive input on the petition. At a public meeting on or before August 17, 2015, the Board will take action to grant or deny the petition. Staff, in consultation with legal counsel, is conducting a review and analysis of the petition against the legal criteria set forth in Education Code section 47605, and will provide its written analysis of the petition, and discussion of potential options, to the School Board before the determination meeting. The School Board will take no action tonight, but will receive public input on the petition during the public hearing. The petitioners will be provided an opportunity to make a 10-minute presentation before the public hearing.
