Summary: One Director of Human Resources position was eliminated sometime around the 2008-2009 school year during the State budget crisis and recession, leaving only two HR managers for the entire district and all employees. The District is currently continuing to restructure Human Resources to better support all of our five bargaining units and all of our approximately 4500 employees. Staff also expects that the existing small number of management positions to support MDUSD employees to be a likely negative finding in the upcoming FCMAT report. Staff is recommending approval of one additional Director of Human Resources to better support all of our employees and bargaining units. Position will be a DMA Range 29.
Funding: Previously Funded position in 2008. To be funded from General Fund.
Fiscal Impact DMA Range 29 ($102,285 - $124,332)
Recommendation: Move to approve the creation of the position of an second Director of Human Resources.
