Summary
:
In preparation for an Accrediting Commission for Schools (ACS) and Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) six-year reaccreditation review in 2020-2021, Mt. Diablo Adult Education (MDAE) now requests review and acceptance of the attached “WASC Postsecondary Supplement to the COE/WASC Self-Study Report.”
In 2014 the programs of MDAE, with the exception of CTEC Programs, were regionally reaccredited by WASC for a six-year term. In 2014 the CTEC Programs of MDAE were reviewed and nationally accredited for an initial six-year term by the Council on Occupational Education (COE). From March 15-19, 2021 another WASC six-year reaccreditation review will be conducted simultaneously with a COE second six-year “reaffirmation” review. Both the WASC regional reaccreditation review and the COE “reaffirmation” review will be conducted virtually.
In preparation of the WASC review the “WASC Postsecondary Supplement to the WASC/COE Self-Study Report 2020-2021” is to be reviewed and approved by the MDUSD Governing Board prior to the WASC virtual review. There is no requirement for MDUSD Board approval of the COE Self Study Report 2020-2021.
Attached for MDUSD Governing Board review and potential approval is the complete “WASC Postsecondary Supplement to the WASC/COE Self-Study Report 2020-2021”.
Funding
:
Not applicable as there is no funding attached to WASC reaccreditation.
Fiscal Impact
:
There is no impact to the Adult Ed Unrestricted General Fund.
Recommendation
