Summary:
|
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) establishes a partnership between the Contra Costa Office of Education (CCCOE) Teacher Induction Program and Mt. Diablo Unified School District. With the elimination of Teacher Induction Coaches, MDUSD will be transitioning during the 2020-2021 school year from providing it's own induction program to partnering with the County Office of Education to support new teachers, specifically targeting high needs areas (i.e., BCLAD, Math, Science and Special Ed). The goal of this partnership is to increase student achievement through the implementation of a quality teacher induction program, while nurturing the growth and development of participating General Education and Education Specialist teachers. Upon successful completion of the program, teachers earn a formal recommendation for a California Clear Credential. The service fee for Teacher Induction Services is $2,250 per participating teacher plus a stipend for mentors. This will be a significant cost savings for the District while ensuring we have high quality educators in our classrooms.
