Review and Potential Approval to apply for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) grant to continue serving WIOA eligible youth ages 16-21 in Contra Costa County. Mt. Diablo Unified School District (MDUSD) has been a recipient of the WIOA grant since 2015 offering the Youth Employment Services (YES) program to approximately 50 MDUSD youth. The WIOA grant provides youth workforce development services and required WIOA youth program elements designed to enhance essential employability skills and assist in pursuing and achieving their educational and career goals in targeted industry sectors and in-demand occupations. MDUSD plans to continue its work with the Workforce Development Board of Contra Costa County (WDBCCC), industry, business, community, and post-secondary partners to deliver WIOA Title I Youth services in Central Contra Costa County. The WIOA grant is a three year renewable grant (2021-2023) for $375,000 annually based on available funds and successful completion of grant requirements.
