Summary
:
Mt. Diablo Unified School District English Learners Department is proposing the purchase of a bank of hours from the tutoring company FEV Tutor to provide academic support to English Learners in supporting students in 6th-12th grade. Tutoring is done online. Students would be able to contact the tutoring service to receive homework help, to receive feedback on written assignments, or to help them study prior to a test. Additionally, the District will identify groups of students receiving failing grades in specific academic subjects and work to assign them one-on-one tutoring hours. The English Learner and Dual Language Services Department will monitor the use of these hours. Staff is proposing the purchase of 5,000 hours and the company is giving us 1,000 additional hours. The contract will be paid using Title III which are federally restricted funds that can only be used to support the needs of English Learners.
