Summary:
Staff seeks approval of the work-site Agreements of student internships for Mt. Diablo Unified School District (MDUSD) students. Over the past four years, MDUSD has focused on expanding students' college and career readiness and access to school year and summer internship opportunities. These internships are in partnership through the Youth Employment Services (YES) Program and the district's Career Pathways programs. MDUSD has a total of seven worksite agreements with agencies (La Clinica, Pacific Coast Farmers Market, Contra Costa Family Justice Center, Ambrose Recreation & Park District, Monument Crisis Center, and Fresh Approach). YES is a program designed to give vulnerable youth access to work-based learning opportunities and academic and social emotional supports to obtain their high school diploma. Paid and unpaid internships will take place during the summer and school year for eligible students in both a hybrid and in-person when permissible. Paid internships will be funded by grants and donations.
