Summary:
Mt. Diablo High School's International Hospitality and Tourism Class is requesting permission to travel to Oahu, Hawaii with 16 students and 6 chaperones on April 2 through 8, 2020. The group will be flying and staying in a local hotel. This location was chosen for the microcosm of the world's sustainability issues that the students have learned this year. We'll be visiting the University Agriculture Department, local Cultural Arts Program, a Sustainability Program and exploring college and career opportunities. Overall goals of trip are to enlighten students about their individual impacts and responsibilities in an interconnected global community.  
Funding:
Students raised $25,000.00 making and selling Giant Carmel Apples. Proceeds have been placed in MDHS's Food Science Education budget, 355 36220.  
Fiscal Impact:
$20,000.00
