Summary:
|
Measure J Citizen's Bond Oversight Committee Member, Denise Huffman Cruz, currently filling the role of Parent/Guardian of Student Enrolled has requested that she be released from her commitments to the Measure J committee.
Members are appointed to the CBOC by the Board of Education for the District, and must fulfill at least (7) designations specified by Proposition 39 (Education Code § 15282):
(1) member shall be active in a business organization representing the business community located within the school district.
(1) member shall be active in a senior citizens’ organization.
(1) member shall be active in a bona fide taxpayers’ organization.
(1) member shall be the parent or guardian of a child enrolled in the school district.
(1) member shall be a parent or guardian of a child enrolled in the school district and active in a parent-teacher organization, such as the Parent Teacher Association/Organization or school site council.
(2) members shall be community at-large.
Currently, the Measure J CBOC has (9) members. Staff recommends that current CBOC member Erin Adrian be moved from her current role as one of three Community Members at Large to the Parent/Guardian of Student Enrolled, replacing Denise Huffman Cruz. This transfer will allow all required designations to remain filled therefore meeting the obligations of Proposition 39.
