:
Background: The attached change order summary list and backup documents describe (3) scope changes to Bid #1850 Tennis Courts at Mt. Diablo High School and Ygnacio Valley High School. The (3) scope changes involve (3) separate Change Order Requests (COR’s). The MDUSD Construction Manager and District Administration have reviewed each request. The work has been authorized for all aforementioned COR’s.
Current Consideration: Ratification of the (3) COR’s authorization of the addition of the approved amounts to the original contract. The contractor may bill for the additional work once approved by the board as the scope has been verified as complete. The deleted scope of work was presented as a saving for unnecessary labor at the Ygnacio Valley High School site. The added scope of work was presented as an Owner Directive to resolve safety and security concerns that we brought up during construction and not included in the original project scope.
Fiscal Impact: The total cost of the (3) COR’s is an increase of $38,868.00. This is a 4.45% increase to the original contract. This project is funded by the Measure C General Obligation Bond and no additional funding is necessary.
