Summary: Laney Cline King will work as project director for the MDUSD NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) in the Garden Program for 11 schools - Bancroft, El Monte, Fair Oaks, Gregory Gardens, Mt. Diablo, Pleasant Hill, Rio Vista, Sun Terrace, and Wren Ave. Elementary Schools and Oak Grove and Riverview Middle Schools. Assist other schools as appropriate in beginning and developing Garden Education and/or Cooking and Nutrition Education activities. Act as point of contact for all stakeholders for all routine program matters and refer up the chain as appropriate. Oversee garden educators as well as provide ongoing professional development to garden educators on NGSS.
Continue collaboration/interaction with other entities that are also currently doing garden education including cooking/nutrition education and NGSS development.
