Summary:
|
The Board approved the use of the Carl Moyer Program Bus Grant and PG&E Electrical Vehicles (EV) Fleet Electrification Program on January 27, 2020. The District is in the final phase of the project and is ready to install EV charging stations under California Government Code Section 4217.11 (a). This code allows the District to informally solicit proposals and award to the vendor which presents the best proposal for our needs on this special energy conservation project. Veteran Power, Inc. was the most responsive, responsible bidder, and their proposal best fits our needs for this unique project with a Proposal total of $376,331.20. The award of the Carl Moyer Program for the purchase of the 16 EV buses and 16 charging stations will greatly cut our costs compared to the use of the diesel for our older bus fleet. The sixteen electric buses will run cleaner, and will be a more cost effective resource supported by the EV stations.
