Mt. Diablo Adult Education (MDAE) Career Technical Education Center (CTEC) is looking to upgrade equipment, allowing CTEC to align to industry standards, including the use of training materials and equipment currently used in the medical assistant, dental assistant, surgical technologist, and certified nursing assistant industries. With the use of Adult Education CARES Act Funds for Improvement of Post-Secondary Education (FIPSE) Grant, MDAE is looking to upgrade outdated training equipment including the replacement of Dental Program x-ray sensors, and the purchase of steam sterilizers for the Surgical Technology Program. Vendor, Henry Schein, Inc. has a district-wide accumulated total of Purchase Requisitions/Purchase Orders of $36,890.14. Staff request the allowance of the purchase above mentioned equipment for the MDAE CTEC programs in the amount of $14,280.69 (Purchase Requisition #R122865), bringing Henry Schein, Inc. to a 2020-2021 expenditure total of $51,170.83.
