Summary: Education Code 44256(b) authorizes the Governing Board to assign an employee holding a Multiple Subject or a Standard Elementary credential to teach, with his or her consent, any subject in a departmentalized class below Grade 9 provided that the teacher has completed 12 semester units or 6 upper division or graduate units of coursework in that subject.
