Summary: Mt. Diablo Unified School District requested bids for installation of new fire riser and new high bay sprinkler system at Purchasing Warehouse. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to: all tools, materials, labor and equipment necessary to complete the fire sprinkler installation. The invitation to bid indicates that the low bidder will be determined by the base bid. The budget identified for this project was $500,000. The District received one (1) bid package on September 7, 2021.

The contractor’s original bid was for $494,394. Upon review and negotiation, his revised price is $397,860 plus his contractor’s allowance for this project in the amount of $25,931. This allowance will be used at the sole discretion of the district adding to the original scope of the bid. The District has also added an allowance of $35,000 in order to handle any unforeseen issues this project might encounter. Like the contractor's allowance, this is only allowed at the sole discretion of the District.

With this revised proposal for bid #1895 from Guerra Construction Group, staff would like to present them as the lowest, responsible, responsive bidder.
