Summary:
|
The Mt. Diablo Unified School District Transportation Departments was successful in obtaining an award of the Carl Moyer Program Grant and have entered into agreement with the Bay Area Air Quality Management District to accept this grant. The Total Grant Funds Available is $5,560,200.00 of which $1,378,800.00 is for the purchase of (4) new electric buses and $4,181,400.00 designated for the infrastructure to charge our growing electric fleet. In order to meet the obligations of the grant award, the infrastructure description, the district must purchase and complete installation of six (6) level 3 (120kW) single port charging stations and two (2) level 3 (120 kW) dual port charging stations with a solar PV carport and associated electrical conduit and infrastructure to be located at the Transportation Yard. No later than October 8, 2026, the Project must be completed by Grantee and inspected by the Air District, and Grantee must have submitted its request for payment in accordance with the grant agreement. Staff is recommending entering into agreement with The KYA Group for preconstruction services. Within this work scope, they will provide the Design and Engineering of electrical bus charging stations and a large solar canopy covering electric bus parking stalls.
