MDAE CTEC 2020-2021 Occupational Training Program Titles Updated for COE 11-02-2020..pdf
Summary
:
The Mt. Diablo Adult Education (MDAE) Career Technical Education Center (CTEC) is scheduled for a review and potential “reaffirmation” of its Council on Occupation Education (COE) 2014-2020 accreditation for a second six-year accreditation term.
As part of the COE accreditation process, COE requests documentation of MDUSD Board approval for each individual CTEC training program course title with corresponding training hours. While MDUSD Board of Education annually at the beginning of each new school year, approves the list of all courses offered by Mt. Diablo Adult Education, COE is requiring additional specificity for these comprehensive training programs as outlined on the attached “CTEC Occupational Training Program Titles 2020-2021.”
Each of these MDAE CTEC training programs has an advisory committee comprised of industry sector representatives who provide extensive input on curriculum content, externship preparation and monitoring. This input, along with partnerships with a host of regional employers who provide externships for MDAE CTEC training program graduation requirements, greatly supports MDAE CTEC graduates to be fully prepared for success in the workplace.
NOTE: The MDAE CTEC Dental Assistant occupational training program hours have increased by 27 hours. Contact hours of all the other MDAE CTEC programs have remained the same.
Funding
:
Not Applicable
Fiscal Impact
:
There is no impact to the General Fund. Mt. Diablo Adult Education (MDAE) provides federal Pell Grant funding to Career Technical Education Center (CTEC) students through the USDE for income eligible adult students and USDE requires accreditation by the Council of Occupational Education (COE).
Recommendation
:
Move to approve the Mt. Diablo Adult Education (MDAE) Career Technical Education Center (CTEC) Occupational Program Titles for the 2020-2021 School Year.
