Summary: District staff is looking to purchase outdoor tables and umbrellas, to be distributed to Mt. Diablo Unified School District schools. To assist our sites in providing a more adequate outdoor seating option for lunch. Staff is surveying the sites as to what each site has currently, what their needs are, and is compiling an equitable list of their needs.

District staff is requesting permission to purchase outdoor tables and umbrellas. The projected cost for this purchase is $2,000,000. District staff is also requesting that the Superintendent or CBO be allowed to approve the final purchase requests when settled. Staff will return to the Board for ratification of the final purchase of outdoor tables and umbrellas.
Funding: ESSER III Funding
Fiscal Impact Projected Cost: $2,000,000
Recommendation: Move to approve the purchase of outdoor tables and umbrellas with a projected cost of $2,000,000, and grant the Superintendent or CBO the authority to authorize the final purchase request.
