Summary:
|
The purpose of this resolution is to dispel old, inaccurate and inappropriate descriptors about students with disabilities. Using People-First Language respectfully puts the person before the disability. It is an objective way of acknowledging, communicating and reporting on disabilities as well as eliminating generalizations and stereotypes, by focusing on the person rather than the disability. |
