Summary
:
The Femineer School Program will support female students who are part of the Engineering Pathway, the CCAP STEM Dual Enrollment Program at YVHS. Through this after school program, participants engage in highly creative, hands-on activities. Femineers acquire the technical knowledge and practical skills necessary to become confident and strong in their future careers. The curriculum for the projects is provided by Cal Poly Pomona and San Diego State University College of Engineering. This after school program will also blend in the already established Girls Only Career Mentoring, where female industry partners meet with female students monthly to provide career mentoring and career exploration. The goal of the Femineer School Program is to inspire females to pursue a career in STEM. Under the MOU, MDUSD will need to support teacher training.
