Summary:
In order to ensure we are fully prepared for the need for substitutes in the fall, and to ensure we are also competitive in compensation as compared to surrounding districts, staff is recommending that we increase the substitute rate from a daily rate of $120, and retiree and special circumstances rate of $145, to a daily rate of $170, and a retiree and special circumstances rate of $180. Our rate has been low compared to other districts, and other districts are raising their rates now. Base on this information and an examination of the rates of surrounding districts, we are recommending we increase the substitute teacher daily rate effective July 1, 2021.

Special Circumstances Rate: $180
Certificated Retirees: $180
