Summary:
|
Review and Potential Ratification of the application for the Education to End Hate Mini-Grant to provide Anti-Racism and Anti-Bias Professional Development to staff. The grant is funded by contributions from an ongoing philanthropic partner, the S.D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation and the allocation will be made by the Californians Dedicated to Education Foundation (CDEF).
Mt. Diablo Unified School District’s (MDUSD) plans to partner with the National Equity Project and the University of California, Berkeley, who have extensive experience in leading related educator trainings. These resources and professional development will help to expand the equity work and provide the opportunity and support for staff to develop their skill, knowledge, and capacity to teach Ethnic Studies in MDUSD. This grant, in collaboration with the MDUSD Equity Department, will help staff to move from information to transformation. This is a one year grant for $20,000 and will pay for substitutes, professional development and training, and staff time for collaboration and planning. |
