Summary:

Review and Potential Approval of the Sports for Learning Digital Library for Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and Physical activity for fifteen CARES Expanded Learning Program. Mt. Diablo Unified School District in partnership with the CARES Expanded Learning Program will be piloting the Sports for Learning distance learning platform to offer SEL support and physical fitness activities for the students at 15 schools. The 15 schools are as follows: Bel Air Elementary, Cambridge Elementary, Delta View Elementary, El Monte Elementary, Fair Oaks Elementary, Holbrook Language Academy, Meadow Homes Elementary, Rio Vista Elementary, Shore Acres Elementary, Sun Terrace Elementary, Wren Avenue Elementary, Ygnacio Valley Elementary, El Dorado Middle School, Oak Grove Middle School and Riverview Middle School. The purpose of the Sports for Learning curriculum is to use fun, physically active games and sports as a vehicle to engage students in social & emotional learning. Their curriculum is aligned with the National Physical Education and Health Standards and uses the CASEL wheel as the framework for our Social Emotional Learning curriculum. Each lesson focuses on a specific SEL skill and is based on one of the 5 core competencies. Throughout the course of the program, the goal is for your students to practice and gain proficiency in a range of new SEL skills. Total contract is $50,000. |
